A 23-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped in the Batla House area of Delhi, police said.

According to the complaint, the woman, who is a resident of Haryana, was allegedly forced to convert her religion and marry a Muslim man against her will.

A police officer said that four of the six accused, including a woman, have been arrested by the South-East Delhi Police. The main accused, identified as Faheem, is currently lodged in Dasna Jail in Ghaziabad in connection with another case.

Police said the matter came to light on May 14. In her complaint, the survivor alleged that she came in contact with a man through social media in 2021. The accused allegedly introduced himself as “Sahil,” claiming to belong to a wealthy family, and promised to marry her. She later discovered that his real name was Faheem.

The woman alleged that in 2022 she was called to Batla House, where she was allegedly gang-raped by multiple persons. She further claimed that videos of the assault were secretly recorded and that she was later blackmailed with threats of making the clips viral.

The complainant also alleged that she was later taken to Meerut, where she was sexually assaulted again.

According to the FIR, the woman claimed she was abducted, threatened and forcibly converted before being compelled to marry the accused.

Based on her complaint, police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 366 (kidnapping and compelling a woman to marry), 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), 342 (wrongful confinement), and 120B (criminal conspiracy).
