BEAUFORT: A total of 231.4 kilogrammes of food have been saved through the Savefood@Ramadan Programme as of March 22.

District Officer Mohd Nazri Ajun said the programme, held for the first time, was implemented through a strategic collaboration with Pemuda Gema, with Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) as the organiser and coordinated by Gerakan Pengguna Siswa (GPS) Kolej Komuniti Beaufort.

Also present were Beaufort KPDN Branch Head Julie Julhani, Klias Community Development Leader Matjun Yunus Mathon, local community leaders and students of Kolej Komuniti Beaufort.

Other than that, various activities were also organised by KPDN in conjunction with Consumer Rights Day and National Consumer Day 2025.

Nazri said, KPDN together with Local Authority (PBT) had organised four programmes simultaneously from March 22 onwards, which includes the Rahmah Ramadan Bazaar Programme (BRR) at the Ramadan Bazaar Site in Dataran Begandang.

“This programme also aims to provide affordable options for breaking fast, with the Menu Rahmah priced at RM5. It is implemented through a collaboration between KPDN and the Local Authority (PBT).

Meanwhile, the Rahmah Madani Sales Programme (PJRM) also took place near the hall, managed by Bestamart Sdn. Bhd. This programme offers daily necessities at a discounted price of 10 to 30 per cent lower than the usual market price.

“Hopefully, this PJRM Programme could help reduce the cost of living for the community and bring joy in preparation for the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” he said.

Nazri, who is also Beaufort District Consumer Movement Co-Chairman, congratulated KPDN and GPS Kolej Komuniti Beaufort for this effort and appreciated the traders’ cooperation in making the programme a success.
