Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded 241 new Covid-19 infections Monday, down by 11 from Sunday’s 252 cases.

Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said nine districts recorded an increase and seven districts a decrease.

He said districts that recorded a decrease in cases have more cases overall than those districts that recorded an increase in cases.

With 106 new cases, Kota Kinabalu continued to have triple-digit cases (-16).

There was an increase in districts that recorded double-digit cases to six, namely Tuaran 25 cases (0), Papar 19 cases (+11), Sandakan 16 cases (-16), Penampang 14 cases (0), Kudat 11 cases (+11) and Rotation 11 cases (-4).

The number of districts that did not record any new cases decreased from 12 to 10 on Monday.

With the low number of test samples which is only 1,997 (compared to Sunday’s 2,330) with a positivity rate of 12.22 per cent (compared to Sunday’s 10.94 per cent), the total number of cases Monday does not reflect the actual situation of Covid-10 infections in Sabah.

A total of 239 of the 241 cases recorded on Monday are in Category 1 and 2, and two cases in Category 4.
