THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced Friday the return of 29 human trafficking victims from Cambodia.

According to a statement on the DMW’s website, the Filipinos returned to the country on Philippine Airlines Flight PR 2622 from Phnom Penh and landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 early on Friday.

A team led by DMW Assistant Secretaries Maria Regina Angela Galias and Jerome Alcantara, along with representatives from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Bureau of Immigration, and the Task Force Against Trafficking (TFAT), welcomed the returning Filipinos and facilitated the processing of their documents.

The OWWA also provided some accommodation and transportation assistance for their homecoming to their respective provinces.

In addition, the DMW said that those still in Cambodia are still being given temporary shelter by the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh, while their repatriation is being processed.
