A 29-year-old Malaysian man sustained an abdominal injury after being shot at close range during a gang feud on 7 October.

In a media conference today, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) confirmed that 10 suspects involved in the rival gang conflict have been arrested. The suspects, aged between 21 and 40, were apprehended in several raids across Selangor. Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director Datuk M. Kumar cited a turf war between rival gang members as the motive behind the attempted murder.

All the suspects have prior criminal records and drug-related offenses, and are believed to be part of an organised crime syndicate.

Kumar said the victim was shot after parking his lorry by the roadside. He managed to call the police for help and was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.

“Information from one of the suspects led to the seizure of a Stoeger Cougar automatic pistol at a house in Kuala Selangor on 1 October.”

He added, “The attack was also driven by revenge, internal disputes, and a power struggle within the drug trafficking ring.”

Two other men, aged 21 and 34, are still at large and are being actively pursued by police

“The 34-year-old suspect has a record as a wanted individual and is believed to be a member of the TR Gang organised crime group,” Kumar added.

The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code and Section 3 of the Firearms (Heavier Penalties) Act 1971, Sinar Harian and China Press reported.
