Three persons have been arrested with approximately 15 grams of heroin in Shoghi, about 13 km away from Shimla, police said here on Monday.
The accused have been identified as Lovesh Goyal (23), a resident of Bilaspur, who was presently residing as a tenant in Shimla, Abhinav Sharma (21) and Shivam Saraswal (23), both residents of Shimla.
Providing the information, Shimla SSP Gaurav Singh said that a special cell team of the district police was patrolling near Shoghi, when it searched a vehicle in which the accused were travelling.
During the checking, police found the contraband from their possession and arrested them.
The SSP said that a case under section 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 has been registered against the accused and further investigation is under way.
The SSP added that the vehicle in which they were travelling has also been seized and the source of the purchased the contraband is being investigated.
