Three nomination papers were filed for the local bodies elections in Mohali district on Thursday.
Two nominations were filed in Kharar and one in Zirakpur.
In Zirakpur, the papers were filed for Ward No 22. Two nomination papers were filed for Ward No. 22 in Kharar. May 16 is the last date for the filing of nominations. The scrutiny of papers will be held on May 18 while May 19 is the last date for the withdrawal of nominations.
Elections will be held for 195 wards across the district on May 26. These include civic bodies of Mohali, Kharar, Kurali, Naya Gaon, Derabassi, Zirakpur, Lalru and Banur.
The nomination process for Wards No. 1 to 25 of the Mohali Municipal Corporation was being held at PUDA Bhawan, while nominations for Wards No. 26 to 50 are being received at the SDM Office, Mohali. Nomination papers for Kharar and Derabassi Municipal Councils are being received at the SDM office.
