BEAUFORT: Police arrested three men in two separate drug operations here, seizing suspected Syabu from a house raid and a roadside patrol, said Beaufort Police Chief Supt Champin Piuh.
“The two men were brought in for further action and investigation, and the case is now being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, with both arrests remanded in lockup,” said Champin.
He said police stormed a room in a house in Kampung Kangsa Bangkalalak at about 3.25pm, detaining two local men aged 32 and 45.
A search found suspected Syabu weighing 0.10 grammes hidden in one suspect’s trouser pocket.
Separately, Champin said Weston police foiled an attempt by a 55-year-old man to carry drugs along the Beaufort-Sipitang road near Kampung Lingkungan at about 2.40pm, after he was found acting suspiciously with a sling bag.
A search of the bag turned up a spectacle case containing suspected Syabu weighing 0.54 grammes. The suspect and the seized items were taken for investigation under the same law, he said.
