A senior Indian-origin technology professional has shared that he is finally preparing to return to India after failing to secure a suitable role in the United States despite multiple interview attempts.
In a Reddit post titled ‘End of the road, coming back from US’, the user said he had accepted the outcome after several unsuccessful hiring processes.
“Finally made peace with coming back to India. Tried my best to get an offer. Went through 3 full loops (6 rounds each) but did not convert,” he wrote, referring to his efforts to land a senior management position in the technology sector.

The professional said that although he has around 15 years of industry experience, none of the interview processes resulted in a job offer. Each hiring process involved six interview rounds, but he was unable to secure an offer despite completing three full interview cycles.
He also acknowledged that finding a suitable role in Delhi NCR could be even more competitive than his experience in the US. Nevertheless, he said he remains optimistic about rebuilding his career.
Rather than seeing the move as the end of his professional journey, the Reddit user described it as a new beginning.
“Only peace is, will pay off the apartment I have in Gurgaon, and will have 2-4 years of runway to get settled,” he wrote.
A user reacted, “US has changed now, tech world has changed, this is probably the worst time to find a job. I may not even be considered for IC roles given my age (40) and 10 years as a manager. Just don’t have the capacity to go through the rounds again (did interview with FAANG) heading back to find some peace, refresh and then see if I want to get back to the grind."
