MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Energy (DOE) on Saturday said that 329,000 barrels or 52.311 million liters of diesel from Malaysia, arrived in the country.
In a statement, the DOE said that it was part of the ongoing efforts to “strengthen the country’s fuel supply amid continued volatility in the global oil market brought by the developments in the Middle East.”
The shipment, the second government-secured diesel shipment under the Emergency Energy Security Program, follows the 142,000 barrels or 22.578 million liters of diesel from Japan, which arrived last March 26.
“With the arrival of the Malaysia shipment, the government continues to strengthen domestic supply buffers as global oil markets remain exposed to geopolitical risks linked to ongoing developments in the Middle East,” the DOE said.
