France manager Didier Deschamps is not backing down in his row with Chelsea.

The national team boss is calling N'Golo Kante to the squad for their coming two Euro 2020 qualifiers.

And he believes that if the player is fit enough to play for Chelsea, he is fit enough to play for France.

The Frenchman was on the bench for Chelsea's 4-4 draw with Ajax in the Champions League in midweek.

Kante has struggled with an ankle injury, which has reduced his game time this season.

Deschamps told reporters: "I haven't spoken to him [Chelsea boss Frank Lampard].

"NG [Kante] has taken time to recover, he was back in training last week, in their squad for the Champions League.

"He is back to full fitness.

"If a player is available for his club, it is normal that they be part of this squad."
