Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will not require surgery on the dislocated elbow suffered in defeat at Brighton.

But the Spurs captain has sustained ligament damage and isn't expected to return to training until early next year.

With three minutes played at the Amex Stadium, the Frenchman attempted to claim Pascal Gross' cross but fumbled it and fell into his goalmouth.

As Lloris clutched his arm in agony, Neal Maupay tapped in the Seagulls' first in a 2-0 defeat that increased the pressure on an under-fire Spurs side.

Lloris received treatment on the pitch for the injury before being carried off on a stretcher.

The 32-year-old will be sidelined until early next year.
