Former Real Madrid star Amancio has compared president Florentino Perez to Santiago Bernabeu in terms of their influence on Los Blancos.
Amancio spent over a decade playing for Real Madrid in the 1960s and 1970s and was part of the side that lifted the 1966 European Cup.
"What am I going to say about Don Santiago that is new, the story has been told before," Amancio told Radio MARCA on his 80th birthday.
"He was an impressive president that put Real Madrid in a very high position and Florentino Perez is doing the same thing at the moment and I think he'll be considered as the new Bernabeu."
