These are my children, Qayyum, Qhalief, and Qaayed, fondly known as the 3Qs.

On the 25th of January 2020, I suffered a stroke that left me bedridden for around a month. During that difficult time, I couldn't do anything. Even the simplest tasks required assistance.

I would constantly wake up at night and look at the faces of my children. They were just 9, 7, and 3 years old then. Tears would slowly trickle down as I stared at their innocent faces. Just two days prior, I had taken them to a lantern festival where they had fun running around and playing hide and seek with me amidst the beautiful lights and lanterns.

But today, I can't even take a sip of water without their help.

My boys were never accustomed to luxury, even when I could afford it. Happiness to them was as simple as trips to the library, playground, or public pool. Sometimes, we would take them to Mydin mall and let them choose an ice cream and a meal each. That would really make their day.

Occasionally, we would reward them with a trip to 7-11, where they'd be given RM 10 each to spend on their own.

I wondered if I would ever be able to provide them with happiness again. However, it soon struck me that I should be thankful for them.

At such a young age, God had already elevated their status compared to most of us, even myself.

Every day, each of them would take turns assisting me.

They ensured the tumbler at my bedside was always full and regularly asked if I needed a sip. When it was time to pray, they would use a sprayer to help me with ablution and pray by my side.

At lunch or dinner, they were always on standby while my wife fed me. They would give me a drink, wipe my mouth as food would come out from the side, or help me if I choked.

Not a single complaint or sigh from them, even when I soiled myself. Together, they helped me change my diapers.

I’m so proud of my boys and truly thank God for this priceless gift. Even I didn’t have the opportunity to care for my parents the same way the 3Qs did for me.

I’ve improved so much now, and as I continue on my road to recovery, the 3Qs have taken on a new role. As I had to say goodbye to my organic farm of 15 years, I continued my passion and our livelihood in our small garden with the help of the 3Qs.

As I am still paralyzed on my left side, I trained the 3Qs in the art of gardening. We now maintain a small garden by the side of our home, supplementing ourselves by selling seeds, seedlings, and garden produce.

There are now 40 plants in our garden, and I’m extremely proud to say that 95% of it came from the 3Qs' fingers. That’s why we’re now known as the 3Qs Garden.
