
A road accident involving a police patrol car and a Perodua Kelisa along the Ipoh–Lumut Road in Perak has resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy.
According to a statement by the Ipoh district police, the crash happened at around 3.35pm near Puncak Jelapang yesterday (Feb 10).
Initial investigations found that the Perodua Kelisa, which was travelling from the opposite direction, is believed to have suddenly lost control before colliding with a Honda Civic police patrol car.

Two police officers who were in the patrol car, as well as the Perodua Kelisa driver, were injured and rushed to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh for treatment.
The three-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the Perodua Kelisa, suffered serious injuries and was later pronounced dead at the same hospital at around 4.32pm.
His body has since been sent to the hospital’s forensic unit for a post-mortem examination.
Police have seized both vehicles for further inspection and are also reviewing dashcam footage as part of the investigation.
Those who witnessed the incident or have information related to the crash have been urged to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Sabrina Anita Abd Samat, at 05-2451537 or to head to the nearest police station to assist with investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving causing death. As of now, no arrests have been made.
