Four people, including three members of the same family were killed, while two others were seriously injured in a road accident on the Delhi-Mumbai-Vadodara Expressway in Nuh, Haryana, on Saturday morning.

According to police, an SUV heading towards Delhi collided with a truck parked on the roadside at pillar number 64 between Rawa and Baghola village at around 6.30 am.

The impact was so severe that four of the six car occupants died on the spot. An FIR has been registered against the truck driver, who managed to escape from the spot, at the Ferozpur Jhirka Sadar police station.

The deceased have been identified as Poonam Jadon (37), her daughter Khushi (16), son Kanha, alias Duggi (14) — natives of Nawali village in Sawai Madhopur district in Rajasthan, residing in Shiv Kunda ki Talai, Natata Road, Jaipur — and their tenant Keshav Yadav (22), a resident of Kotputali in Rajasthan. Keshav used to work as a nursing staff at a hospital in Jaipur.

The injured include Poonam’s husband Jawahar Lal (42) and his son Akshay (11). Both of them were admitted to the Mandikheda Hospital where the father is undergoing treatment, while his son has been referred to Delhi due to critical injuries.

Shubham, brother of deceased Poonam, suspected some conspiracy behind the accident. He said Jawhar Lal was Poonam’s second husband while Khushi and Kanha, alias Duggi, were from her first husband, late Dharm Singh. While others died on the spot, how come Jawahar Lal and his son Akshay received only injuries, he asked.

“An FIR has been registered against truck driver, Yusuf, a resident of Nawabgarh village in Nuh district. The post-mortem examination is being conducted and further probe is underway,” said Investigating Officer Yadram.
