The Chandigarh Police have arrested all those accused in the broad daylight murder of a youth in Daria village. The accused include four minors and one adult, identified as Rahul from Mohali, who were held responsible for the killing of Suraj on the afternoon of May 22.
According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s twin brother, Suraj had gone to the market in Daria for some personal work. Shortly afterwards, his brother Dheeraj also went to the market, where he noticed several individuals running towards the main street. A passer-by informed him that six to seven boys were fighting with knives and shouting each other’s names, including Rahul, and that four boys had been injured. Alarmed, Dheeraj rushed to the spot and saw blood scattered on the ground. He was told that Suraj had been taken to hospital. On reaching there, doctors declared Suraj dead. The victim had earlier claimed to have received threats. During the investigation, four juveniles were apprehended on 17 May and sent to the Juvenile Justice Home.
