Kota Kinabalu: Some 40 Sabahans are helping out aboard the Doulos Hope for the duration of the book fair on the ship, which kicked off on Saturday and runs till October 3.
One of these volunteers is Michelle Kok who could be seen directing the public where to go on the first day of the fair.
The 27-year-old, who is involved with her family’s traditional medicine business in Damai, didn’t mind taking some time off work to assist on the Doulos.
“I decided to put my name down for the Volunteer Programme when I heard that the Doulos was looking for help,” she said, adding she had been assigned to the vessel’s Events team.
