A 42-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car early Sunday morning along the Kota Kinabalu–Papar road near Kampung Meruntum, Putatan.
The crash, reported around 4:20 am, involved a car driven by a 55-year-old man heading from Petagas to Papar and a motorcycle suspected of riding against traffic from Kinarut to Putatan.
Penampang police chief Supt Sammy Newton said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the car driver was unharmed and taken to the Penampang district police headquarters for further investigation.
