BEAUFORT: A MySave Food programme jointly organised by GPS Kolej Komuniti Beaufort volunteers and officers from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) salvaged 448.8 kilogrammes of surplus food during an operation at the Beaufort Ramadan Bazaar.

The figure was recorded through the ReMeal application before the food was distributed to those in need.

The Ministry’s Beaufort branch conducted its second Bazar Ramadan Rahmah (BRR) programme alongside advocacy for the Price Catcher/REDi applications and the MySave Food initiative at the Beaufort Ramadan Bazaar on Saturday.

The programme from 2pm to 9pm involved a total of 210 bazaar traders, with 45 stalls participating in the BRR initiative offering affordable Iftar meals to visitors.

Throughout the event, visitors were briefed by Price Monitoring Officers on how to use the Price Catcher application to check and compare prices of goods at nearby premises.

A walkabout was also conducted around the bazaar which saw BRR trader kits being distributed to participating traders.
