47 Junior karatekas set for Phuket

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Karate Association (SKA) will be sending 47 of their junior athletes to participate in the Thailand Open Karate-Do Championship 2022 scheduled to be held in Phuket, Thailand on August 19-23.

SKA president Datuk Jake Nointin said on Sunday that the team members made up of 27 boys and 20 girls from seven centres throughout the state with 16 from the main dojo, five from Dahai Club, two from Sandakan, six from 3KSK, four from Papar, seven each from Tambunan and Penampang.

He also expressed his gratitude to Mohd Fadli Shah Najmuddin for sponsoring the team’s track suits.

Meanwhile, the team led by manager Iskandar Damis which also comprised 50 parents received the state flag from SKA’s deputy president Datuk Herman Tionsoh held in the main dojo recently.
