His girlfriend was also arrested

Brickfields District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook, said the raid took place around 11.30 PM at the suspect’s rented condominium in Bangsar, as reported by Sinar Harian.

He said the suspect, who tested positive for drugs, also had a prior record related to drug offences.

He had allegedly been growing the plants for 7 weeks

Chang Hook said initial investigations showed that the man had been renting the unit for almost a year and was living there with his girlfriend.

It’s believed he had been growing the cannabis plants for around seven weeks.

Both of them, who are currently unemployed, will be remanded for further investigation under Section 6B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act.
