
TAWAU: A family of four survived but two were left injured when an Isuzu Bighorn they were traveling in crashed into a house at Kg Beruang, Jalan Haji Matahir, here, Sunday.
The incident occurred after the driver swerved to avoid colliding into another vehicle, a Perodua Alza.
The head of the Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Rastam Keladi, said the injured victims were 49-year-old woman and six-year-old boy.
Based on witness statements, Rastam said the two vehicles had a near collision but one of the cars ended up crashing into the house, which was badly damaged.

Read more He said, a team of nine firefighters including officers with two machines rushed to the scene about 32km away after receiving an emergency call at 5.02pm.
“The team arrived at the location at 5.29pm and removed the victims as well as provided initial treatment.
“The injured victims were handed over to the ambulance to be sent to Tawau hospital for further treatment,” Rastam said.
After making sure there was no other danger at the location, the team wrapped up the operation at 5.47pm.
