Kota Kinabalu: The Padang Merdeka which witnessed the proclamation of Malaysia 59 years ago came alive on Friday, when 5,000 people gathered to celebrate the State-level Malaysia Day celebration.
With the theme “Malaysian Family Strong Together”, the celebration started with raising of the Jalur Gemilang and the Sabah Flag by the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) and the Royal Malaysian Police Band playing “Negaraku” and the state anthem, “Sabah Tanah Airku”.
