I have inherited my dad’s thick, dark brown, unruly brows, hence why I am on a mission to find the best home brow lamination kits.
While I consider my eyebrows low-maintenance, as I rarely have to tweeze or wax them, they do have a mind of their own, and I heavily rely on a brow gel with an extra-strong hold to keep my caterpillars in place. Admittedly, brow gels are not always long-lasting and can leave a tacky residue, which is a serious pet peeve of mine. However, I rarely have time to enjoy a 90-minute in-salon brow lamination treatment, which can fetch anywhere from £55 for a single treatment, according to beauty booking service Treatwell.
Brow lamination kits, which are essentially a semi-permanent and non-invasive brow perm, have been popular since the pandemic when we had to embrace at-home beauty treatments. Over the last few months, I have tested some of the best brow lamination kits safe for home-use to save me the effort of gluing my caterpillars down every morning, and the cost of expensive professional treatments. So, without further ado, read on for the best brow lamination kits, and my tips for a salon-worthy home pamper.

Mylee the brow wow
Best: brow lamination kit overall
How long it lasts: Four days
Duration to complete: 20-25 minutes
What's included: brow wow glue, x3 application packs with lifting lotion, fixing lotion and conditioning treatment, Y-tool, x3 applicators, x3 spoolies.
Suitable for: All hair types
Why we love it
- Strongest hold
- The kit was well signposted
- No bleach or burning smell
- Easy to use
Take note
- The glue in step one dries fast, so use it quickly
- Not enough applicators and spoolies
Mylee’s the brow wow delivers across the board as the best eyebrow lamination I tested. It’s a compact kit complete with individual sachets, filled with a well-measured formula to easily laminate brows. Crucially, this vegan-friendly, cruelty-free and affordable set delivers the strongest hold out of all the kits I tested, and is the most long-lasting (four days).

The first step in the regime, the holding gel, is the key to achieving the desired lift and precision. While this step is key to fixing every eyebrow hair in place, it sets quickly, which makes it hard to manoeuvre your brows after this has been applied. I also found the gel was quite gloopy, and it left a tacky residue when I didn’t tidy up the gel on the tip of the brush. While care must be taken to get every hair in place, you have to use the gel quickly, which is an art.
The set included strips, with sachets to rip to access the formula. This makes it easy to use, especially if you want to tend to your brows on the go. The set also features several accessories, including three spoolies, a trio of applicators and a Y-tool to complete all three sessions in the one kit. Personally, I didn’t find the Y-tool useful in combing or shaping my eyebrows. Although the instructions recommend using a new applicator for every step, I used all of the tools in one session and didn’t have enough applicators for all sessions in the kit. With this in mind, I would have preferred if the set featured more applicators instead of the Y-tool.

Fleeky browlift lamination kit
Best: value for money brow lamination kit
How long it lasts: Three days
Duration to complete: Less than 20 minutes
What's included: x3 applicators, spoolies and combs, x3 sachets per treatment, styling fix tube with applicator
Suitable for: All hair and skin types
Why we love it
- Quick to apply
- Gentle on skin
- Mid to strong hold
- Every product is well labelled and clear instructions
Take note
- Requires cling film, but this is not included
Fleeky’s browlift lamination kit shone out to me for numerous reasons. It is easy to use, boasts a gentle formulation, and offers a long-lasting hold (three days). Plus, one kit contains the essentials to complete six sessions, which is great value for money. Considering this bundle is often on sale for less than £25, I average approximately £4 per brow lamination session, which is a significant saving compared with salon treatments.

The compact kit is well organised and detailed, which makes it simple to follow the instructions. One strip includes three separate solutions, which have been carefully measured to apply generously to the eyebrows with minimal waste. The trio of solutions includes two brow lamination formulas, as well as a gel-like aftercare treatment, all of which were ultra-gentle, and did not sting, smell or irritate my skin.
The set also features a bundle of applicators: three spoolies, three fine combs and three double-ended applicators, which I appreciated, as other kits didn’t include enough tools to cover several sessions. The bundle also features a styling fix brow gel to keep my brows in place in between lamination sessions, as well as a gel-like aftercare treatment that nourishes the area – this is an extra touch lacking in other kits and a detail I appreciated after weeks of brow lamination sessions.
While it sounds like a lot of steps, one full session took less than 20 minutes for me to complete. Although I kept each solution on for five to six minutes, it can stay on for a maximum of eight minutes per step, depending on the density of your brows and desired finish, which is still less than 30 minutes.
The brow lamination offered a medium to strong hold for a few days, but it achieved a subtle finish rather than the glossy lift you’ll get from salon treatments (though this may be because of the duration I left the formula on for). The main downside is that the treatment requires cling film to be applied to the brows after each solution, yet this isn’t included in the kit.

L'Oréal Paris infallible brow lamination brow gel
Best: brow lamination for daily wear
How long it lasts: One day
Duration to complete: 30 seconds
What’s included:: One tube with brush attached
Suitable for: All skin and hair types
Why we love it
- Easy to use
- Quick fix for similar brow lamination finish
- Long lasting hold for everyday wear
- No smell
Take note
- Not a permanent solution
- The formula can get tacky and cause piling
Despite its name, the infallible brow lamination brow gel is not technically a brow lamination kit as such, though it delivers a temporary strong hold that resembles the semi-permanent beauty treatment. In fact, I would liken this compact eyebrow product to an eyebrow gel and brow lamination hybrid.

The clear gel is easy to use, as the brush sits in the formula, and I simply comb the spoolie through my brows. It offers a strong hold that can last for hours of wear, though after several uses the brush started to clog and the formula became a little tacky and piled.
If I was being super pernickety, I would have preferred thicker bristles on the brush, or a slimmer brush head for extra precision when combing through my unruly brows. However, if you are easing your way into brow lamination, the infallible brow lamination brow gel is a simple yet effective, and affordable alternative I will keep in my make-up kit.

NanoBrow lamination kit
Best: cruelty-free brow lamination kit
How long it lasts: Two days
Duration to complete: Less than 30 minutes
What's included: Glue, x2 separate brow lamination formulations, spoolie, applicator, paintbrush applicator
Suitable for: All hair types, but not sensitive skin
Why we love it
- Easy to use
- Gentle on the skin
- Nourished my eyebrow hairs
- Quick to use
Take note
- Promises to last up to six weeks, but lasted less than one week
- Slightly bleached my brown eyebrows
- Could benefit from including more spoolies in the kit
The NanoBrow lamination kit was one of the first brow lamination kits I tried. Unfortunately, it didn’t achieve a strong lift or have long-lasting staying power compared with some other brow lamination kits, which was disappointing considering NanoBrow claims one session lasts “up to six weeks”. I found it lasts for just a couple of days.

Though this bundle didn’t achieve the expected slicked up glossy brows I had hoped for, it left my eyebrows feeling soft and fluffy after the treatment. While it wasn’t necessarily a typical laminated brow finish, my eyebrows looked polished and “done” afterwards, so I was told by friends. So, if you’re looking for a gentle treatment, and a subtle natural finish for that ‘your brows but better’ look, this is a worthy contender.
This kit can be used before a brow tint treatment, which I would recommend. Keep in mind that while it was easy to use (it took less than 30 minutes to complete the process), and didn’t irritate my skin, I did notice my eyebrows were slightly lighter after the first session.

MCoBeauty brow laminate sculpt & set
Best: budget one-day brow lamination
How long it lasts: One day
Duration to complete: Less than one minute
What's included: One tube with a spoolie applicator, and dual brush head on the other end
Suitable for: All hair and skin types
Why we love it
- Quick and easy to use
- Gentle on the skin
- Not tacky
- No piling
Take note
- To comb through the eyebrows, you need to fix the spoolie back into the tube
- Not a permanent solution
Although MCoBeauty’s brow laminate sculpt & set is technically a clear eyebrow gel, it offers a strong hold and has better staying power than many eyebrow gels and brow lamination kits I have tried. One sweep through my brows and this gel glues them in place all day long, without any pesky residue. While this formula may not last for days, or weeks, it is long wearing, and can withstand me pulling my knitted beanie on and off my head several times a day.

The formula is ultra lightweight on my brows, and it doesn’t cause any piling, which is impressive considering the price. The tube is compact, features a spoolie housed in the gel formula, as well as a dual comb and bristle brush end to sweep through the brow hairs seamlessly.
While I appreciated the trio of brushes to coat my eyebrows, separate the hairs, and comb into the lifted shape I wanted, I largely relied on the spoolie and comb, rather than the coarse brush. It is also worth mentioning that to avoid messy hands the applicator must be placed back in the tube and sealed, before using the comb on the reverse end to tame the brows – a lesson I learnt the hard way.

Your questions about at-home eyebrow lamination kits answered
What is the best eyebrow lamination kit?
Despite the bold promises, the brow lamination kits I tried did not slick my eyebrows up and hold them in place for longer than a week. Now this may be because I have stubborn and wiry hairs, or my application, so if you are looking for a strong hold and longer lasting results, I would advise investing in a kit that includes three to six sessions, such as Mylee’s the brow wow or Fleeky’s browlift lamination kit.
As far as home kits go, Mylee and Fleeky’s brow lamination kits remain my personal favourite bundles for home use because they are quick and easy to use for a novice, like me. Both sets had clear instructions, and offered a longer lasting hold than other brow lamination kits. While Mylee’s kit achieved a visible brow lift with a strong and longer lasting hold, Fleeky’s kit offered a subtle lift that held for numerous days.
What is brow lamination and how does it work?
Working similarly to a hair perm, a chemical solution is applied to the brows to break down the bonds making them malleable. From here, the weaker hairs can be brushed into shape, set with a neutralising solution and topped off with a nourishing oil to re-hydrate. The result should be thicker, fuller brows that point in an upwards direction, removing the need to fill or gel your eyebrows everyday.
Some things to note for those unfamilar with the treatment is that firstly, your brows don’t stay rigidly straight. They can be easily moved and brushed up or down depending on how strong you want the final result to be. Secondly, to achieve a perfectly sharp-looking brow you most likely will need to wax, pluck or trim to get the desired shape – just be sure to do this once the brows are fully dry to avoid any hair breakage or further irritation. And thirdly, it’s always advisable to do a patch test on any new product around 24 hours before to check for any sensitivity.
Are there any side effects or risks to brow lamination?
As I learned all too well, there are definitely risks that come with brow lamination, whether done at home or in the salon. Although the treatment is non-invasive, the chemicals used in the solutions can be strong and irritate the eyes and skin (especially if sensitive).
The main risks include redness, itching, irritation, swelling and bumps, according to Healthline, so it isn’t recommended for those who have sensitive skin, rosacea, eczema or contact dermatitis without consultation with an expert practitioner first. With being so close to the eye area, there is also risk associated with product entering the eye and causing damage. So please do proceed with caution and be sure to patch test 24 to 48 hours prior to application.
How long does brow lamination last?
Depending on who you ask or what kit you go for, results are claimed to last anywhere from a few weeks to six months. I personally found the former, although there are some tricks you can do to try and extend the longevity for as long as possible.
Firstly, cover your eyebrows with clingfilm for the first two steps of each process – each kit usually does recommend this, although clingfilm is not always included. This locks in the heat and allows the product to work through.
Secondly, don’t get your eyebrows wet with water, sweat or anything else for at least 24 hours post-treatment – 48 is even better.
And thirdly, be sure to regularly condition your brows with a brow oil or nourishing conditioner every few days to prevent them from drying out. Few kits come with enough oil to do this, so I again learnt this the hard way after my eyebrow hairs started snapping and falling out.
How I tested eyebrow lamination kits
I have been testing brow lamination kits for the past three months to find the best home brow lamination kit. I spread my testing out over several weeks to avoid damaging my eyebrows, but to also better assess the holding power of each lamination kit.
As a home brow lamination novice, I read the instructions for each kit thoroughly prior to use as the process, as well as the contents of the kits, can vary. I made sure I had all the equipment prepared, which occasionally meant seeking out extra cotton wool pads, cotton buds, and cling film not included in the kit, to help with the treatment.
When it came to the actual process I cleansed my face thoroughly before use, to remove any product from my face, though I avoided oil-based cleansers that could impact the brow lamination formulas, and dried my skin thoroughly. I combed through my bushy brows to ensure a smooth and seamless application before I set to work with each treatment.
During testing, I considered the following criteria.
