During the campaign, authorities inspected 16 school buses and issued challans to five vehicles after finding several safety-related deficiencies.
The inspection drive was carried out under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal and under the supervision of District Programme Officer Rajiv Dhanda.
Child Protection Officer Ramanpreet Singh said that regular inspection of school vehicles is essential to ensure the safety and security of children travelling to and from schools. Officials stated that the team checked essential documents, including fitness certificates, driving licences of drivers, pollution certificates and other mandatory safety measures. The team also verified the availability of first-aid kits, fire extinguishers and other child safety arrangements in buses.
