SEMPORNA: The Marine Police Force (MPF) here, Thursday, detained a 38-year-old man and seized a total of 50 mantis prawns worth about RM3,000.

The MPF team was patrolling near Bohey Dulang islands following Ops Taring Gelora when they apprehended a pump boat at about 11am.

Sabah Region Four MPF Commander, ACP Ariffin Ahmad said, inspection found a total of 50 Mantis prawns filled in bottles.

“The Mantis prawns were brought without documents and fishing licence, an offence under Fisheries Act 1986,” he said.
