500 students get aid in Papar

PAPAR: A total of 500 students from B40 families here received school aid from Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) as the main sponsor in collaboration with Yayasan Jiwa Malaysia (YJM) and Papar Education office, here, recently.

YJM Chairperson Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said the school aid amounting to RM50,000 was distributed to each student with a one-off RM100 payment, benefiting 45 schools including mission and independent Chinese schools here.

“This aid is hoped to help alleviate the burden of families in preparing for school necessities and to help our children to begin the upcoming academic session with greater enthusiasm.”

Also present were the YBR Program Manager Muhammad Khalil Kader Mydin; Papar District Education Office Officer Bakri Sudin; and Principal of SMK Benoni, Mohd Ikhbal Khan Ismail who hosted the programme.

“We understand that in these challenging economic times, every family faces difficulties in meeting the schooling needs of their children.

Advertisement (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});“Therefore, it is hoped that this assistance will, to some extent, ease the financial strain on parents and allow their children to start the new year with more confidence and motivation,” she said.

In the same development, Rosnah who was a former Papar MP, suggested that YBR consider designating Papar as its adopted area to receive similar assistance and initiatives in the coming years.

“I am confident that with the support and attention given by YBR to Papar, more students here will have opportunities to further their education and improve their lives.

“I hope this proposal will be considered, and we will see more initiatives that benefit the community in Papar in the future,” she said.

Rosnah said YJM remains committed to implement programmes focused on education and universal welfare through collaborations with various parties, particularly corporate organisations.

“We believe that every child deserves equal opportunities to succeed.

“Therefore, I invite sponsors and more corporate entities to collaborate with YJM in helping those in need and to jointly extend assistance to underprivileged groups. I hope this effort will grow into a larger programme that benefits more students and serves as a pilot project with a positive impact on society,” she said.
