PETALING JAYA: The person in charge of the Father’s Organic Farm campsite in Batang Kali, which was hit by a major landslide earlier today, has revealed that a total of 51 adults and 30 children were registered for overnight stay there.

“The number comprises those who had registered with the campsite,” she told Bernama when contacted.

However, the source, who only wanted to be known as Chang, said she was unsure if there were any children below four years old at the campsite as they were not required to register, adding that only children aged four to 12 were required to register.

Chang said the campers were mostly families and there were no groups of school or university students.

The three campsites that were buried in the landslide were River Hilltop, Farmview, and River Side.

The death toll has risen to 16 as at 1pm, and while most of the 94 who were trapped have been rescued, 17 are still missing.
