
Kota Kinabalu: A 55-year-old man was charged with committing sexual physical harassment against a shop assistant.
Mohd Hamka Ghani @ Abdul Ghani pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan.
Mohd Hamka is accused of committing the offence against the 16-year-old girl by fondling her breasts, touching her private part and kissing her.
The offence allegedly took place at 3pm on Oct 15 in front of a shop in Putatan.
The offence under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 provides for a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.
The court set Nov 27 for mention and no bail was offered to Mohd Hamka pending the date.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Dacia Jane Romanus appeared for the prosecution while Mohd Hamka was not represented.
In another court, a 47-year-old Filipino was jailed four months for illegally entering the State.
Raquel Villagonzalo pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim, to entering the State without any valid document at Tambunan on Sept 5.
He was ordered to serve the jail sentence from the date of his arrest and referred to the Immigration Department after serving the sentence.
