A 57-year-old retiree from Kuala Lumpur is celebrating a life-changing windfall after winning RM9.98 million from a lottery draw.
The lucky winner, who purchased the ticket at Jalan Pudu, shared that his winning numbers were inspired by his car registration and house numbers, as announced in a Facebook post by the lottery company.
He had been placing bets with the same combination for years.
I bought my ticket based on my car registration and house numbers, and I’ve been betting on this set for a very long time,” he said.
With his newfound fortune, the retiree plans to invest in his children’s future.
“I plan to use the winnings to send my children to study in Singapore and save the rest for retirement,” he added.
The winning draw took place on February 9, 2025 (Sunday).
