After waiting a long time to be served, a taxi driver in Singapore had no choice but to raise his voice to get someone to take his order. Unfortunately, his yelling led to an argument and eventually, his injury.
The 59-year-old taxi driver was stabbed in the head with a bread knife by the restaurant owner
In a report by Shin Ming Daily News, the driver had just signed out of work and wanted to get himself a beverage. He tried to get someone for his order but to no avail, so he started yelling.
“I tried to get the waiter but I was ignored. He passed by in front of me and the stall was just in front of me.”
A tattooed man claiming to be the shop owner later approached the taxi driver and told him not to shout. The taxi driver made himself clear (again) that he just wanted a drink and asked if it was wrong.
The boss then went into the restaurant, took out the blade and attacked the taxi driver on the head.
“When I collapsed, he was still kicking me,” the taxi driver said.
He also said that he couldn’t remember much from the incident after suffering injuries on his head, which was bleeding, causing his shirt to be soaked in blood.
The uncle managed to get food for his wife despite his injuries
In another report by Sin Chew, another worker at the restaurant claimed that the owner was unhappy with the tone of the taxi driver, calling him rude.
“The driver was uttering vulgarities, that’s why the boss was not happy.”
Before the uncle got into the ambulance, however, he managed to get a pack of Char Kuey Teow (CKT) for his wife from one of the stalls at the restaurant.
“He speaks loudly sometimes, but I am sure he means no harm. It was just a misunderstanding. He also said there was no need to involve the police,” the Char Kuey Teow vendor said.
The CKT vendor also said he refused to accept payment from the injured uncle and gave the noodles to him on the house. It costs SGD 10 (approximately RM32.90).
