Sporting CP president Federico Varandas accepts they could sell Bruno Fernandes this summer - but he won't leave on the cheap.
Fernandes' agent has twice visited London in the past week for talks with Manchester United and Tottenham.
And Varandas told Sporting TV: "It is one of the summer novels that we have been following with attention and some irony.
"This board prepared itself for the market. Who stood out was Bruno Fernandes, who made a fantastic season, it is obvious that he will be the object of greed for great clubs.
"If he leaves we have a plan B to attack the market. At this moment he is Sporting, a great player, a great professional and has become a great captain. If the market wants Bruno Fernandes, he has to have a value."
Asked about rumours of Fernandes leaving for &euro,35m, Varandas scoffed.
"I guarantee he will not leave for 35m."
