5th Floor Of Seri Kembangan Apartment 80% Destroyed In Fire, No Injuries Reported
A residential unit on the fifth floor of an apartment in Taman Pinggiran Putra, Seri Kembangan, was badly damaged in a fire on Jun. 26.

According to Kosmo, the unit was about 80 per cent destroyed in the incident.

Fire broke out at noon

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department said it received an emergency call about the fire at around 12.12pm.

Following the call, 15 firefighters and officers from the Seri Kembangan Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the scene, with assistance from the Cyberjaya Fire and Rescue Station.

Operations commander Saharudin Abd Razak said the team arrived at around 12.22pm and found the fire already raging.

Speaking to WeirdKaya, a resident from Block E, which is located opposite the affected block, said she first noticed a strong smell of smoke inside her home.

She said the smell was particularly noticeable from the kitchen area, and she initially thought it was caused by air pollution.

However, at around 12.24pm, she realised that a fire had broken out at the opposite block.

Unit was 80% burnt

The fire involved a home located in a five storey apartment building.

The unit, measuring about 20 by 70 feet, was estimated to be 80 per cent burnt.

Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control by 12.37pm, preventing it from spreading further.

The fire was fully extinguished at around 2.05pm.

No deaths or injuries were reported in the incident.

The cause of the fire and estimated losses are still under investigation by the Fire and Rescue Department.
