Kota Kinabalu: Sixty children in Numbak Village recently participated in sustainable development catalyser education programme supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) Malaysia.
Jointly organised by the International Cooperation Agency Alumni Society of Malaysia (myJica) and the Universiti Malaysia Sabah Curriculum and Student Development Center (PKPP), myJica president Norazizul Abdul Aziz said it involved group exercises and motivational talks. The programme also saw cultural appreciation efforts through folk dance, learning via games with the 3M (membaca, menulis dan mengira or reading, writing and arithmetic) concept as well as exposure to basic methods of agroponics using recycled equipment.
“The activities were assisted by University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) students from section one and three of the Leadership & Motivation (Baktisiswa) course,” said Norazizul in a statement. Also present were UMS Pusat Kokurikulum dan Pemajuan Pelajar (PKPP) Deputy Academic Director Dr. Colonius Atang and myJica Sabah representatives.
