Manchester United are confident about going into the season without a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

United had hoped to sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus in a swap deal, but Dybala's reluctance to make the move has put them off.

The Manchester Evening News says United could sell Lukaku to Inter Milan and go into the season with no additional attacking signings.

They would promote Mason Greenwood and Angel Gomes from the youth setup in that event.

The report does claim that a late signing or two is possible next week.

But with the window closing on Thursday, it leaves very little time to trash out big deals.
