Former Real Madrid coach Vicente del Bosque has swerved questions about his old club.

Los Blancos are enduring a horrid spell at the moment, but the ex-Spain coach was keen to talk about anything other than their predicament.

"I neither owe nor wish Real Madrid any bother," he said, refusing to comment on their issues.

Instead, Del Bosque wanted to focus on Spain and Robert Moreno, in whose direction he sent praise.

"There's good preparation and training," Del Bosque explained.

"Things don't happen by chance and the federation have done a good job.

"It's not necessary to have been a great player to be a coach.

"There's no direct relationship."
