BEAUFORT: Bedridden Salaman Osman (pic), 78, a Bisaya from Kg Padas Damit is still hoping for assistance from Welfare Department.
One of Salaman’s cousin, Zuraidah Wahab, told Daily Express on Tuesday that her uncle was a farmer before he fell ill.
“Salaman is sick and has to stay with the nearest family because he is single,” she said.
“We applied for assistance from the Department of Social Welfare since March but when we met with the personnel attached to the Department, the response was our application is still under process,” she said.

It is clear that Salaman is very sick.
Moreover, he is in desperate need of financial assistance for his medical expenses, pampers and cost of transportation to hospital. His closest families are also facing financial constraint.
Zuraidah hoped Lumadan Assemblyman Datuk Ruslan Muharam and Sipitang MP Datuk Matbali Musah will act to this matter and ensure the welfare of the people is prioritised.
