71 Tawau fire victims receive aid from State Government

TAWAU: Some 71 households of Kampung Tanjung Batu Keramat (Logpond) fire victims received a RM3,000 contribution from Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at the Tawau Sports Complex, Monday.

They each received RM1,000 of Bantuan Wang Ihsan (BWI) from the State, RM1,000 donations from the Zakat Division of the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis), RM700 from the Sabah State Charity Foundation and RM300 from the Sabah Baitulmal Corporation.

Hajiji said that the State Government would also provide RM20,000 in assistance to purchase building materials for 45 houses that were 100 per cent destroyed.

Seven houses destroyed by approximately 30 per cent will receive RM10,000 in aid.
