74 cases of AGE recorded in Tenom

KOTA KINABALU: The Tenom Health Office recorded 74 cases of acute gastroenteritis (AGE), Thursday, said Sabah Health Director Datuk Dr Rose Nani Mudin.

Based on the data, patients experienced symptoms of abdominal pain (100 per cent), vomiting (100 per cent), diarrhoea (20 per cent) and fever (16 per cent).

“The earliest symptoms detected were on January 3,” she said in a statement, Thursday.

She said all cases had received treatment and patients are in stable condition with some having recovered.

“The risk factor causing the incident is still under investigation.”

A viral Facebook video surfaced on Thursday, claiming that many residents in Tenom were experiencing diarrhoea and vomiting.
