Kota Kinabalu: A 74-year-old former syariah lawyer reportedly became the oldest graduand at the 26th Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Convocation Ceremony, here, Saturday.

Datin Saidatul Badru Mohd Said Keruak, a mother of three children and grandmother of three, received her PhD in history, which was presented by the Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Sabah and Chancellor of UMS, Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.

Commenting on her achievement, Saidatul said that age is not a barrier to success if there is an effort accompanied by high enthusiasm and desire.

She said that she wants her success to be an inspiration to youths who want to pursue higher studies, Info X reported.
