Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Parks kicked off its 2022 State-level Young Rangers Programme on Tuesday, in efforts to ensure aspiring park rangers and the younger generation can sustain conservation efforts over Sabah’s natural treasures.

A total of 75 primary and secondary school students from 15 schools across seven districts were selected for the programme themed “Sea Explorer”, which will go on for two days at Manukan Island, a marine protected area situated within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park (TTAR).

Sabah Parks Board of Trustees Deputy Chairman Peter Lintar said the programme was carefully planned with activities that would educate the students on Sabah’s marine ecosystem and the importance of protecting it.
