Over 80,000 kids would be provided guidance and assessment in “Kamal Ki Tayari” programme across the state in first phase of summer camps. This was stated by District Programme Officer (DPO) Anil Kumar on the conclusion of training programme of Anganwadi workers here today. He said children in the age group of three to six years were selected in at least 6,400 Anganwadi Centres across. He Anganwadi workers from 64 centres in the Hamirpur block had undergone training, he said.

The summer camps would be organised under the joint aegis of the Women and Child Development Department and the Pratham Education Foundation.

DPO Anil Kumar stated that the primary objective of the programme was to boost enrolment and regular attendance of children at Anganwadi Centres and to prepare them for school entry. Strengthening parental participation to enhance the children’s holistic development and the learning process was also a key goal of this initiative, he said.

Subsequently, for a period of four to six weeks, simple, engaging and educational activities that parents could conduct with their children at home would be shared via WhatsApp messages. He added that “Summer Mela-2” wold be organised at the conclusion of the campaign, during which children’s learning progress would be observed and evaluated.
