Kota Kinabalu: The sentences of 14 prisoners on death row in Sabah – one of them a woman – are expected to be commuted to life this week by the Federal Court following the abolition of the death penalty recently, Daily Express reliably learnt.
They were involved in murder and drug offences.
Prisoners in Malaysia sentenced to death or life are able to apply for a review of their sentences from September 2023, after the implementation of a new law allowing such reviews by the Federal Court.
