LAHAD DATU: An 81-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was knocked down while crossing the road by a Proton Saga driven by a 25-year-old man at KM2 along Jalan Lahad Datu-Sandakan, here on, Wednesday.

District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said impact of the crash killed the victim on the spot.

“We have detained the Proton driver who does not possess any identification document for investigation.

“Blood samples were taken from the victim and the driver for alcohol and drug tests,” he said.
