Manchester City are joining the race for Ruben Dias from Benfica.
The defender is being linked with Manchester United, who want to bolster their defensive options.
But injuries to Aymeric Laporte and John Stones mean that City are also on the hunt for a centre-back.
The Mirror reports that City would be interested in signing the youngster, who has a 59 million release clause.
Dias is right footed and at only 22, has shown his class at both club and international level.
He already has 13 caps with Portugal.
