After splitting from parent company Xiaomi, POCO is making their mark with the POCO X2 in India a rebranded Redmi K30. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The X2 is Pocophone's first smartphone since the POCO F1 over a year ago.

The POCO X2 is an interesting mix of flagship and mid-range qualities it's main selling point is its 120Hz refresh rate display that measures a whopping 6.67-inches large. It pushes FullHD+ resolution and supports HDR 10. This is the sort of thing you see on flagships.

However, it runs on a Snapdragon 730G chipset not a Snapdragon 865 like many had hoped. It still supports up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, which is a standard affair for a phone in this class.

For imaging, it's got a 64MP quad-camera setup with an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. It's placed vertically in an odd circular camera bump. For selfies, you get a 20MP + 2MP setup.

Powering the device is a 4,500mAh battery that supports up to 27W fast charging. In terms of features, it's got a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a liquid cooling system that apparently dissipates heat 300% faster we're assuming compared to conventional cooling methods.

The phone is priced from INR15,999 (RM925) for the 6GB+64GB base model, and up to INR 19,999 (RM1,156) for the top-spec 8GB+256GB variant. There's no word if the phone will come to Malaysia but we're optimistic that the original Redmi K30 would be the one making an appearance here; plus with 5G on its way, we're hoping to see the 5G variant enter the country too.
