Realme X50 Pro 5G launched in India with Snapdragon 865 for less than RM3,000

Realme's big reveal was due at the now-cancelled MWC conference in Barcelona, but a virus outbreak isn't going to stop them from introducing their latest flagship the Realme X50 Pro 5G.

Its got all the trappings of premium device, the first of which is a 6.44-inch 90Hz Super AMOLED display. It also has 180Hz sampling rate for a snappier touch experience. The dual punch hole notch maybe a issue for some however, but at least it's HDR10+ certified.

For imaging, its got four cameras including a 64MP main shooter, which is also capable of a 20x hybrid zoom. There's also a 12MP telephoto lens, an 8MP ultrawide & macro lens along with a black and white portrait shooter.

Over on the front, you'll also find two selfie lenses a 32MP selfie shooter alongside a useful ultrawide lens. This setup is of course similar to that of the vivo V17 Pro. The Realme has features like slow-mo, nightscape, live bokeh and video ultra wide.

Under the hood, you can find a Snapdragon 865 chipset with a Snapdragon X55 5G modem for 5G support. You'll also get 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS3.0 internal storage; or 8GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB storage configurations.

It's powered with a 4,200 battery battery wit support for 65W SuperDart fast charge. The phone is equipped with what Realme calls the high efficiency Vapor Cooling charging system that helps the phone stay cool during high loads. Other features include an in-screen fingerprint scanner, NFS and Dolby Atmos speakers.

The Realme X50 Pro 5G ships with Android 10 layered with Realme UI. The phone is priced at INR49,999 (RM2,936) for the 12GB+256GB variant, INR39,999 (RM2,349) for the 8GB+128GB variant, and INR37,999 (RM2,232) for the 6GB+128Gb variant.

There's no word on when they'll be launched in Malaysia yet, but we'll certainly welcome affordable flagship 5G smartphones such as this.
