You'd typically expect a keynote event from Apple to happen sometime this month last year, the company announced Apple Arcade and Apple TV; this year however, the event is likely to be scrapped due to concerns over the COVID-19 outbreak.

It's a significant absence from Apple because it was likely that the iPhone 9, or the successor to the iPhone SE, was to be announced during the event, alongside the announcement of new iPads.

This news comes courtesy of Jon Prosser, who's a tech analyst and presenter at Front Page Tech he tweeted saying that the event is 'officially' cancelled based on sources within Apple. He adds that the claim requires further confirmation from his sources so it's not 100% true.

Because the event wasn't officially announced yet, so the event could either be postponed to be held via online streaming.
