The iPhone SE sure gained a lot of attention when it was launched with a shocking price of RM1,999. It has the same processor used by the iPhone 11 and has some camera features not seen in the older models, but it also has a limitation that nobody expected.
The 3D Touch found in the iPhone 8 has long been replaced by Haptic Touch; this means that the iPhone SE - despite having the same body as the iPhone 8 - also uses Haptic Touch instead of 3D Touch. Either way, what we get when we long press is a quick action that launches extra menus or functionality. However, this doesn't apply to the Haptic Touch on the iPhone SE when it's on the lock screen/notification center.
Unlike the newer iPhones, when you long press on the iPhone SE when it's on its lock screen or notification center, it doesn't expand to preview the full content. Instead, you'll have to swipe left and tap on "view" for that to happen. It's not a bug either; according to a Reddit user, an Apple Support representative confirmed that and said there's no software update to modify that feature.
It is confusing as to why Apple will omit the feature on the iPhone SE. Maybe it's their way of making the iPhone SE less of a "flagship device", but it feels unnecessary and can be an important purchasing factor - especially for those who've been used to quick actions on the notification center.
